We just received our Supplement 3 Update approval today. In fact, I had just gotten off the phone with the Hague unit to make sure they had received it since it had taken a few weeks, and Christopher walked in with it from the mailbox. So now we are again officially approved by the US government to adopt from China. This I-797 now states specific age and medical condition so that we are ready to go.......when the time comes. We also received our first quilt square tonight at church! Thanks, Towns Family- we loved it!
We are hoping to travel to Dallas this weekend to attend the GWCA travel training seminar. This is suppose to answer many of our questions about the process in China, what to take, what to leave at home, what to do in case of ...fill in blank. I can fill in that blank with so many thoughts. I am, unfortunately, a worrier and worse case scenario person. Plan for the worst, be surprised by the best:) So for me, the planning is essential. Some things I must have a solution for before taking off in a big plane for 13 hours to arrive in a foreign land with too much cash in hand, a potential quarantine for swine flu, and me without my translator:) Just kidding. I know it will be a fun and a sometimes scary trip but will all be well worth it when we have her in our arms. We have in fact, purchased Rosetta Stone Mandarin and have been working on it and not surprisingly, the boys love it and think it is a game. Which it kind of is, but it will not be a game to me when I am trying to figure out what to order at McDonalds in Beijing:) or trying to figure out if she is hungry or needs to find a restroom:) Oh the joy and the adventure of this experience. I think Christopher and I will be laughing at ourselves... a lot- and with a lot of Chinese people who are laughing at what we just said which we will hope was not inappropriate:)
