Homestudy Update
Well it has been a very busy week. We moved into a new house less than a month ago and are having to update our homestudy with the social worker so the government knows where we live and knows that it is an acceptable home for our adoption. We have been working like crazy to get everything put away and looking nice which means no boxes and we had to have the pictures on the walls:) Anyway, we are all settled in and the social worker came for his visit. Everything went great and we are waiting for the document to send to the US government and to the CCAA. We have a wonderful social worker who has spent a lot of time educating and giving us information on this process and what we may encounter. We also have great friends who brought us dinner afterwards to make our day sooo much easier- thanks Gina and Andy- you guys are the best! And, Rosa's was great! We continue to wait for the Letter of final approval from the Chinese government. In some ways, I thought it would be easier once we knew who she was and where she was but the waiting is going to be hard. I am praying for much patience, I am ready to go tomorrow and bring her home but I know God will bring us to her when the time is right. In the meantime, we are working on an American name for her. We will be posting her picture with the announcement of her name very soon! We are also busy working on ideas for decorating her room. I am not sure what to do with a girl's room but I know it will have to have pink in it:) and I am loving looking at little girls clothes. I am hoping for an update on her development in the next few months so I can try and figure out what size she might be wearing when we pick her up. It is most likely that all she will bring with her is the clothes on her back as the orphanage and foster homes tend to keep as much as they can for other children which I think is very understandable. We will be allowed to send her a care package as soon ...so we continue to wait and pray for her safety and health.
