What a blessing to wake up to pictures of the new bunny and backpack that she will soon have from us..We decided to send a care package to our daughter while we wait for our next document. We contacted Ladybugsnlove, a business run by a Christian woman from the US and a Christian woman who resides in Beijing. The care package was sent today, so she should receive it at the beginning of next week. We also sent a cake which she should get sometime next week. Cakes are a special thing in China and we might even get new pictures of her enjoying the cake! We also had a letter translated to the orphanage director and her foster family and a letter our daughter. It took many drafts as we were allowed only 600 words. So in this 600 words, we had to tell the important people in her life a little about us and then tell our daughter all the things we wanted to say to her- it was so hard to know what to say and especially hard to fit it into 600 words. This was a tall order! We know she is only 2 1/2 and probably will not fully understand what it means but it is also important that she hears from us and knows that there is a family out there that belongs to her and already loves her. We hope her caregivers will show her the pictures and start to help her understand who we are. How can we already care so much for a child we have never met....I can only describe how I feel about it. It is very similar to loving your unborn child (although, we have already seen her face). You know this child is yours and your heart is already connected to her. It is a little scary to be emotionally connected to a child on the other side of the world and not have any control over her daily life or experience. We pray that she is healthy and well cared for and we know that ultimately God is in control of all things and that He cares for her in a way that we are unable to. This gives us much comfort as we wait. Although, we still need prayers for patience:) And we really do want that LSC as quickly as possible!

I hope you don't mind....I posted your blog as one of my "regular reads" on my blog http://onechinesebrother.blogspot.com/ If this is not okay, please let me know. Thanks
Heather
Amy thank you for sharing about the process you are going through. I love you and I'm so proud of you for following your heart and letting God direct your path. You are all in our prayers as I know waiting to hold your little girl must be more than difficult. I guess you can say that you are going though a different kind of "labor" to get her.
